Angela (Smith) McPhail, age 60, of the Blue Mouse community in Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2025, in Muldrow, Oklahoma. She was born on March 1, 1965, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Mary Lois (Armstrong) Barnes and James Edward Smith.
Angie shared a loving marriage with Eric McPhail, whom she wed on December 15, 1991, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. After a fulfilling career in the legal and medical fields, she retired to care for her first grandson, Cooper Jordan. Angela cherished her role as Mimi, She lovingly said "we should have had our grandchildren first".
Known for her nurturing spirit, Angela possessed a remarkable ability to revive distressed plants, earning her affection in the Blue Mouse community where many sought her help to rejuvenate their greenery. Shopping trips to Tulsa or Northwest Arkansas with her eldest daughter brought her much joy, and her warm presence will be deeply missed.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Angela touched the lives of many around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband Eric; her four children, Brison McPhail and Kristi of Bauxite, AR, Amber England and Greg of Blue Mouse community, OK, Kayla Williams and Michael of Van Buren, AR, and Robert McPhail and Angela of Roland, OK; along with 11 cherished grandchildren: Cooper Jordan, Conner, Braden, Bella, Annaliese Grace, Mackenzie, Ava, Rhett, Emmett, Amelia and Kody.
Angie's memory will also be held dear by her sister, Kelly Cox of Gans, OK; step-father Dale Barnes of Sallisaw, OK; special cousin Fredda Lynn Sutton of Blue Mouse community, OK; her best friend of 54 years, Vickie McGuire of Blue Mouse community, OK; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck McPhail of Roland, OK, Jeff and Beth McClendon of Rolling Fork, MS, Renea and Eddie Robertson of Hattiesburg, MS. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Mary McCoy and Josh of Oklahoma City, OK, Lindsey Cox of Fort Smith, AR, R.J. McClendon of St. Louis, MO, Josh Sutton of Roland, OK, Adam McGuire of Muldrow, OK, Troy Robertson of Perkinston, MS and Adam Robertson of Sumrall, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shelley Smith, as well as four nephews, Cole Montana Southern, Justin Baker, Drew McClendon and Brian Sutton.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, with burial following at Czarnikow Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the chapel, with family greeting visitors from 3 PM to 5 PM.
The McPhail family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice, Sharon Kerr, Vickie McGuire, Amanda Lee, Fredda Lynn, Josh Sutton, and Angela McPhail for the compassion and care provided during Angie's last peaceful days.
